WHY IT EXISTS
The AVM platform for systems where four independently managed subwoofer channels and higher-grade analog architecture matter.

AVM 90 is most compelling when the system takes advantage of its additional subwoofer outputs and premium analog stage rather than simply treating it as an AVM 70 with a higher badge.

For a large but still conventional 9.x.6 home cinema, it can be an extremely capable center of the system.

SYSTEM THINKING
01Start with the speaker layout and subwoofer plan.
02Confirm the required analog, digital or network outputs.
03Establish room-correction and calibration requirements.
04Then match amplification, control and HDMI architecture.
SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
Four subwoofer outputs change the conversation

AVM 90 expands the flagship Anthem architecture to 15.4 channels, with four independently addressable subwoofer outputs and a higher-grade analog platform.

Why this matters

In multi-sub cinemas the additional bass channels can be materially more valuable than simply choosing a more expensive processor for its badge.

ROOM / BASS OPTIMISATION

Room optimisation

ARC Genesis can measure and integrate the system while allowing target-curve control and individual subwoofer configuration.

WHERE IT FITS

When we would shortlist it

Large but conventional 9.x.6 rooms with up to four subs where excellent analog performance and ARC are priorities.

Final suitability still depends on speaker count, subwoofer strategy, amplifier interface, HDMI requirements, rack design and the calibration workflow expected after installation.

MODEL-SPECIFIC DESIGN NOTES

Four independent subwoofers are the commercial difference

AVM 90 processes 15.4 channels and provides four independently managed subwoofer paths. Its 32-bit/768kHz DAC architecture, seven HDMI inputs, three outputs and 8K60/4K120 support place it at the top of Anthem's AVM range. ARC Genesis supplies measurement, target-curve and profile tools for commissioning the system.

It is strongest in a premium 9.4.6-style room with conventional balanced amplification. Four profiles are useful when one cinema must accommodate different listening positions, source modes or target responses. If the design needs more than 15 main channels, active crossovers or network-audio outputs, the architecture—not the sound-quality badge—points elsewhere.
