PRIVACY · POPIA · EFFECTIVE 13 SEPTEMBER 2026

Privacy and POPIA notice.

This notice explains the limited personal information involved when you browse this informational website or choose to send a project enquiry.

1. Responsible party

The website operator identified in our Website Terms of Use is the responsible party for personal information processed through this website and its project-enquiry correspondence. Privacy questions and data-subject requests can be directed to audio@homecinemaprocessors.co.za.

2. Information we may receive

If you prepare and send a project brief, the information may include your name, email address, location, project type, preferred product or brand, room and speaker information, existing equipment, project goals and anything else you voluntarily include. Ordinary email correspondence and attachments may contain further information you choose to provide.

Like most hosted websites, the hosting environment may generate limited technical and security logs such as an IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps and error or security events.

Please do not send identity numbers, financial-account information, payment-card details, passwords, medical information or other unnecessary special or sensitive information.

3. How the project brief works

The form operates in your browser and prepares a draft email addressed to us. Completing the form does not transmit the information to our website. Your information is sent only when you choose to send the resulting email through your email service. Your email provider will process that communication under its own terms and privacy notice.

4. Purposes and lawful processing

We use enquiry information to respond to your request, understand the proposed room and system, research suitable equipment, communicate with you, prepare project guidance or a later quotation, manage the resulting professional relationship, maintain necessary business records, protect the website and comply with legal obligations.

Processing is limited to what is reasonably necessary for the enquiry or resulting relationship, our legitimate operational and security interests, compliance with law, or consent where consent is specifically requested. We do not use an enquiry as blanket consent for unrelated electronic marketing.

5. Sharing and operators

We do not sell personal information. Information may be handled by service providers supporting website hosting, email, document storage, security or professional administration. Where necessary to answer your request, assess availability or prepare a project, relevant details may be shared with manufacturers, local representatives, distributors, international suppliers, logistics providers, technical specialists or professional advisers.

We aim to share only the information reasonably required for that purpose. We may also disclose information where required by law, regulation, court process or to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

6. International suppliers and cross-border processing

Some manufacturers, suppliers and service providers are located outside South Africa. A project involving international sourcing may therefore require information to be processed or stored in another country. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to use appropriate providers and safeguards and to limit the information shared. Privacy protections in another country may differ from those in South Africa.

7. Retention

We retain enquiry and project correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, manage a potential or active project, maintain relevant records, resolve disputes and meet legal or accounting obligations. Unsuccessful preliminary enquiries may be deleted or anonymised when they no longer serve a reasonable business or legal purpose. Backup and email systems may retain residual copies for a limited period.

8. Security

We apply reasonable organisational and technical measures appropriate to the limited information handled by this site. No website, email system or transmission method is completely secure. If you believe information sent to us has been compromised, contact us promptly.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether we hold your personal information and request access, correction, deletion or restriction; object to certain processing; withdraw consent where processing depends on consent; or raise a concern about how information is handled. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request and may retain information where the law permits or requires it.

Requests can be sent to audio@homecinemaprocessors.co.za. You may also complain to the Information Regulator South Africa.

10. Cookies, analytics and external links

The current website does not intentionally use advertising cookies, behavioural profiling or third-party analytics. Essential hosting, caching or security mechanisms may operate at infrastructure level. If non-essential analytics or advertising technology is introduced, this notice and any required consent mechanism should be updated before activation.

Links to external websites are governed by those websites’ privacy practices. Following a link may allow the external site to receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address and referring page.

11. Children and direct marketing

This website is intended for adults planning or researching home-cinema systems. We do not knowingly request personal information from children. We do not currently operate an automated mailing list through this website. Any future direct-marketing programme must use an appropriate opt-in or other lawful process and provide an unsubscribe mechanism.

12. Updates and contact

We may update this notice when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The effective date displayed at the top identifies the current version. Questions or privacy requests may be sent to audio@homecinemaprocessors.co.za.
