WHY IT EXISTS
StormAudio’s compact route into serious multi-subwoofer and immersive-audio system design.

Core 16 is intended to retain much of the Elite platform’s processing philosophy in a smaller chassis and lower channel-count application.

It is particularly relevant for dedicated cinemas that need sophisticated bass management and Dirac-based room optimisation without requiring a 24- or 32-channel processor.

SYSTEM THINKING
01Start with the speaker layout and subwoofer plan.
02Confirm the required analog, digital or network outputs.
03Establish room-correction and calibration requirements.
04Then match amplification, control and HDMI architecture.
SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
A compact route into StormAudio

Core 16 focuses the StormAudio platform around systems that do not need the full 24- or 32-channel Elite architecture.

Why this matters

You still gain Expert Bass Management, Dirac Live correction and Active Room Treatment capability while keeping the rack footprint and channel count more conventional.

ROOM / BASS OPTIMISATION

Room optimisation

Current Core 16 specifications include Dirac Live Room Correction, Bass Control and Active Room Treatment modules.

WHERE IT FITS

When we would shortlist it

Dedicated 7.x.4 / 9.x.4 / similar rooms where sophisticated bass and Dirac processing matter more than maximum channel count.

Final suitability still depends on speaker count, subwoofer strategy, amplifier interface, HDMI requirements, rack design and the calibration workflow expected after installation.

MODEL-SPECIFIC DESIGN NOTES

A compact chassis with a serious integration brief

Core 16 provides 16 balanced XLR outputs while its current platform can decode and upmix up to 18 channels. Seven HDMI 2.1 inputs and two outputs support 40Gbps video paths. Dirac Live, Bass Control and Active Room Treatment are included, making the processor particularly relevant where subwoofer integration and seat-to-seat consistency drive the design.

Choose Core 16 when the finished loudspeaker plan fits the analog output count and the full Dirac toolset matters. Step up to Elite when 24 or 32 physical outputs, greater modularity, AES or network-audio expansion are part of the rack brief.
