WHY IT EXISTS
The processor for a cinema conceived as one digital Steinway & Sons system.

P300 2.1 is unusual because the headline channel count does not describe the number of loudspeakers the system can ultimately address. Sixteen native channels can be mapped through the Steinway ecosystem to very large speaker counts.

The signal stays digital through Steinway Digital Link to compatible amplifiers and loudspeakers, making the processor, amplification and loudspeaker architecture inseparable design decisions.

SYSTEM THINKING
01Start with the speaker layout and subwoofer plan.
02Confirm the required analog, digital or network outputs.
03Establish room-correction and calibration requirements.
04Then match amplification, control and HDMI architecture.
SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
A closed digital signal path rather than conventional analog separates.

Five Steinway Digital Links carry the processed audio into the Steinway ecosystem. Optional AES3 or AES67 input boards also allow specialist DCI-style or professional source integration.

Multiple P300 processors can be stacked for projects requiring more native decoding channels, which is a very different scaling model from adding analog output cards to a conventional processor.

ROOM / BASS OPTIMISATION

RoomPerfect is part of the system design, not a plug-in afterthought.

RoomPerfect adapts the complete Steinway loudspeaker system to the room while preserving the intended character of the speakers. Intelligent bass management is integrated into the same ecosystem.

Because the platform is system-specific, room design, loudspeaker selection and processor choice should be made together from the beginning.

WHERE IT FITS

When we would shortlist it

Large Steinway & Sons cinemas where the processor, amplifiers and loudspeakers are being specified as one ecosystem.

Projects that value RoomPerfect, fully digital signal distribution and potentially very high physical speaker counts more than open-ended analog amplifier choice.
