WHY IT EXISTS
A processor for cinemas where two-channel music quality and elegant system integration matter as much as surround feature count.
SP25 Prisma is deliberately different from the channel-count race. Primare concentrates on eleven-channel processing, a substantial analog preamplifier stage and a network player architecture that makes the processor equally comfortable with music.
Its dual ESS DAC implementation is used in an unusual way: multiple conversion channels are allocated to the front left and right outputs, reinforcing the product’s audiophile priorities.
SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE

The SP25 Prisma can form the centre of a 7.1.4-class cinema while also serving as a serious stereo preamplifier and network player. The platform includes RCA multichannel outputs and extensive analog/digital source connectivity.
Unlike many current high-end processors, its video architecture intentionally remains HDMI 2.0b-class: 4K60 HDR with eARC rather than 4K120 or 8K60.

ROOM / BASS OPTIMISATION
Dirac Live provides the correction layer.
Primare includes Dirac Live Limited Bandwidth correction below 500 Hz as standard, with a Full Bandwidth licence available as a paid upgrade directly from Dirac. That makes the licence level a concrete specification item rather than something to assume from the Dirac logo alone.
The dual subwoofer outputs are parallel in the underlying hardware architecture, so a project requiring independently optimised multi-subwoofer channels should be examined carefully.

WHERE IT FITS
A particularly interesting 7.x.4 processor for clients who also care deeply about music.
SP25 Prisma suits elegant media rooms and dedicated cinemas where 11-channel processing is enough and where the processor will also be used as a high-quality stereo/network source.
It is less compelling for gaming-led 4K120 systems, six-height layouts or advanced independent multi-subwoofer control. Those are architecture questions, not criticisms of its audio design.

Do you need independent subwoofer DSP?
Two physical sub outputs do not automatically mean two independently optimised bass channels.
How important is music replay?
Prisma, USB audio and the dedicated DAC/output architecture are meaningful differentiators for mixed cinema/music systems.
What Dirac licence is included locally?
Limited Bandwidth correction below 500 Hz is included; Full Bandwidth is an optional upgrade. Confirm the licence state of the supplied unit.
