Choose Altitude16 when…
The room needs up to 20 processed channels, Trinnov Optimizer/Remapping/WaveForming, advanced routing or a calibration workflow that may evolve substantially over time.
Both can anchor an exceptional private cinema. The decision is less about “sound quality ranking” than how far the room needs to go in calibration, channel flexibility, bass architecture and long-term system engineering.

Altitude16 is a software-defined Trinnov platform. Optimizer works with Trinnov’s 3D microphone, Remapping can compensate for speaker-position compromises, and WaveForming can become part of the bass-system design.
AVM 90 is more conventional in signal architecture. ARC Genesis is powerful but the processor is designed around a familiar residential workflow, including four independent subwoofer outputs and 15.4-channel processing.
The room needs up to 20 processed channels, Trinnov Optimizer/Remapping/WaveForming, advanced routing or a calibration workflow that may evolve substantially over time.
A 15.4-channel ceiling is sufficient and the project benefits from four subwoofer outputs, ARC Genesis and a straightforward balanced-analog processor architecture.
The processor changes calibration labour, bass design, channel count and future system options. Those architectural consequences normally matter more than a feature checklist.
Speaker positions, subwoofers, amplifiers, screen, HDMI sources and control requirements should be established before either processor is specified.
